Our representatives will be receiving guests at NJP Railway station /Bagdogra Airport. Guests will then move to Gangtok. On arrival check-in at hotel. In the evening guests can visit local market or nearby area (on their own). Night stay at hotel.
Early morning breakfast. Visit Chungthang (Chungthang is nearly 96 kilometers from Gangtok) Vehicle will proceed for North Sikkim for permit to Drive to Lachen Drive from Chungthang to Lachen ( 29 kilometers)
Reach Lachung late afternoon / early evening. The snow capped peaks, the Shingbha wild life sanctuary, Gurudongmar, Thangu, Chopta Valley are the major attractions of this region. (This town seems to be almost hidden from the outside world. The infrastructure is not good due to the remoteness and the snowfall / Rainfall – The place is worth visiting) Check-in at hotel with Welcome Tea.
Early morning breakfast. (The route will be Lachen – Thangu – Chopta Valley – Gurudongmar lake –Lachen)(55 kms, apprx 3hrs drive from Lachen to Gurudongmar lake ). There will be a halt at 15,000 ft for permit signing
Drive to Gurudongmar Lake, a valley at an altitude of nearly 15 800 feet through which Lachen Chu flows. This is a holy Lake and is one of the most sacred place of worship for the Buddhist. The Lake gets frozen during winter barring a stretch which remains as water even at – 20 degrees C. The region is generally covered with snow from December to April. This is a stretch of cold desert till Tibet / China.
While returning guests will have lunch at Lachen After Lunch drive to Lachung Night-stay at Hotel in Lachung.
IAfter breakfast start for 1/2 day trip to Yumthang Valley (25kms from Lachung) Visit hot Spring and return to Lachung. Proceed from Lachung to Gangtok (117kms/6.5hrs).
En-route sightseeing at Bhimdala Waterfall, Twin Waterfall, Tong Check Post, Singhik and Mangan. Return to Gangtok for night stay.
Morning breakfast at hotel City sightseeing tour starts with visiting the sacred Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) ( According to one of the locals, it is supposed that in ancient times, Buddhist monks studied the colour of lake & water to predict the future.)
Proceed to visit Baba Mandir (apprx 55 km from Gangtok). Baba Mandir had been made in the honour of Harbhajan Singh (also revered as the Hero of Nathula. He was an Indian Army soldier who died in 1968 near the Nathu La. Continue to drive to Gangtok hotel for dinner and night stay.
After breakfast guests will have leisure time for packing and other personal activities.
Proceed for Bagdogra Airport / Njp Railway station and proceed for hometown with nostalgic memories of North East.
